Tip For Potty Training to yummy mummys

This is how I trained my three boys, it helped me and may help you too!

1. Introduce the potty to them, bought couple and left one in the living room and one in the main bathroom. I let them get used to sitting on it before explaining this is where they will we into it first. Once they got used to the chair position and was independently sitting down on it all the time. The next measure was taking them with me to the toilet every time I needed to use it.

2. I had a toilet chair for them in their facing me. Once I was sitting, they too would be doing the same.  I had to make sure that the sounds or weeing was very effective, so this is where us mum's have to role play. Once finished (our business) then let the child see how you clean yourself - boy or girl, and empty the potty into your toilet and flush.

3. If you do have a boy child and is older enough to stand then you should pretend to teach him that action every time, but if daddy is therer too, then get him to go with child as well. Even better for the boy child to understand.

4. Make sure the potty you use is comfy for child and is always in the bathroom that the family mainly uses.  Also taking THE SAME POTTY to friends and family's houses will help child to know that this proceedure continues. It may seem a bit of effort but will speed up the traing process and allow the your child to engage into the training better.

5. DON'T worry about the odd mistakes in between as this will happen and is only natural. You cannot expect the child to grasp this first hand. He/she should be heavily praised each time and if they do always make the potty in time, reward with a treat.

had a chart on my wall that was for wee's and poo's which my boys loved. I would give them a lollipop for number 2's and chocolate biscuit for 1's. This just meant they could see the difference in what they did, eventually. It took my boys 2 weeks in total to fully understand and confidently use the toilet.

GOOD LUCK AND SAY GOODBYE TO NAPPIES

HAPPY EATING

TIPS FOR ENRICHING YOUR BREAST MILK

Here are my top tips that really work:

Drinking Ovaltine, Milo, Horlicks and Fennel Tea (herbal) all make your milk richer in texture and more filling for your baby.

Eating rice pudding, scones with butter, small frequent mini meals all keep you energised and breast milk always producing.

This should be kept up with taking Busy B with C supplement from Holland & Barrett. Keeps Mum going as well as her immune system. I always took this during pregnancy and after. Helps lay off the post natal and feeling blue. I have recommended this to family and friends when they were pregnant.

PLEASE try not to drink fizzy drinks and junk food whilst breast feding or slighty before giving a feed, as you will notice that this thins the milk you produce and makes it look watery and dis coloured. Try and see for yourself. ALWAYS remember that everything you ingest whilst feeding your baby, the baby will take. This, to can mmake baby more colicky and restless when your not nourishing yourself and the breast milk. I have seen this with friends and some family members who struggled to change their diets for the sake of the baby.

Good milk leads to a happier baby:)

PLEASE TRY AND ENJOY THE EATING & DRINKING

Relief for Eczema

Having experienced the stress of Eczema and constant irration of rubbing my skin, I have always depended on Steriodudy  based creams from GP's. I only get this from time to time, especially when either stressed or too much intake of dairy products or too much shell fish.

I have always thought of ways to relieve my symptoms by personnal reading and implimenting nutritional practise. Yes, you do need to change your diet if sypmptons are severe, but good dietry practise and goodies in moderation, are necessary for seeing a great improvement.

For a simple relief and seeing an improvement to the the texture of your skin, you need to always keep the skin moist and not dry. I make sure I rub Pure Evening Primrose oil onto my Eczema 2-3 times daily, initially, then twice a day is sufficient. This can be bought in a good Health shop or Boots. It shouldn't be use with a steriod cream as this confuses the body and suffocates the skin. This is safe for babies too as long as it is just pure 100%.

Other creams to use is Neem Oil, Chickweed Ointment.

Dealing with cold weather

Flu virus is actively about again, just thought a healthy tip would be useful for mums and adults too.

Hot water with a teaspoon of Manuka honey, a thumb size piece of bruised ginger ( bashed ) just means the pores are open, allowing absorption. quarter piece of lemon and drink whilst hot for adults or cooled down for ...children in a bottle or sippy cup.

Everyone should be taking a good all-rounder Multi Vit and mineral. I always use all year round Busy B with vit C, from Holland and Barret. That alone keeps the virus well and truely under control. So for some people who suffer from flu which lasts weeks, should only have it for 48 hrs max. This is a good sign for a stronger immune system.

I always give my boys a bassets Multi Vit before school. Look for one that doesn't contain artificial sweetners or replacement sugars. A lot of the leading brands which look good, are extremely bad. Try bassets soft and chewy in a yellow or purple box. Or Health shops that have the chalk type table...
